Dr P L Gautam was
born on Dec 12, 1947. After completing his Ph. D. in Genetics he joined GBPUAT as Assistant Professor in 1974. He served the University
in various capacities like Associate Professor (1979-85), Associate Director, Crop Research Centre (1979-81), Joint Director
Research (1985-91) and Associate Dean, College of Forestry & Hill Agriculture (1987-91).
Thereafter,
he became Dean, College of Forestry, Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture &
Forestry, Solan, H. P. (1991-97). He joined the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as Director, National Bureau
of Plant Genetics Research (1997-2000) and National Director, National Agricultural Technology Project (2000-2002).
On 18th June, 2002 he joined as Vice-Chancellor, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar, India. His tenure has been extended for the second term from 18th June 2005 for
period of another three years.
During his career he visited various
countries such as Mexico, UK, USA, Iran, Syria, Japan, Canada, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Italy, Malaysia, Finland, Slovakia, Nepal and Philippines as visiting scientist and was member of Indian Delegation in FAO and Conference of Parties of Convention on Biological
Diversity (CBD).
He is member of more that 14 societies
/ committees and has been honoured as Fellow NAAS; ISGPB & NESA; Member, National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad and President, ISPGR. He has several research publications to his credit and has contributed
in developing 11 crop varieties. He has also contributed in drafting of National legislations on (1) Protection of Plant Varieties
and Farmers Rights Act (2) National Act on Conservation of Biological Diversity (3) Material Transfer Agreement and (4) Registration
of Plant Germplasm. He has been actively involved in developing the capacity building for teaching , research and extension
in SAUs and ICAR.
Dr
S P Singh is presently Vice Cahncellor of H N Bahuguna Garhwal University at Srinagar-Grahwal. He was a Professor
of Environmental Science at Kumaon University, Nainital, Uttaranchal
. He has more than three decades of vivid experience in environmental science disciplines, particularly on Himalayan Environment
and Eco systems

Dr Uppeandra Dhar, M.Sc, Ph. D., F.N.A.Sc presently working with Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development, Kosi-Katarmal, Almora
and presently Director In Charge. He is a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences,
India, Recipient ICFRE Award for Excellence in Forest Conservation, Peer Reviewer - the Northern Range Assessment and Millennium
Ecosystem Assessment.
He is the National Coordinator of NBSAP-TWG " Wild Plant Diversity",
Coordinator, NBSAP-SSG " Uttar Pradesh",
Member, NBSAP-TWG "Natural Terrestrial Ecosystems", Member, Ad Hoc Technical Expert
Group on Mountain Biodiversity, Member, MEC on Genetic Manipulation, DBT Research Board on Medicinal Plants, DBT, Member Executive Indian
Society of Ecological Economics, Committee. He has guided 16 Ph.D/M. Phil Supervised 16.
He has handled 09 projects as principal investigator, 02 projects as coordinator. He has
published more than 85 Scientific Papers, which includes, 48 papers in International Journal, 17 in National Journal and 20 numbers in Proceedings/Books. He has
published 06 Authored and 03 Edited books. He has Prepared
Himalayan Biodiversity Action Plan, Developed State of Art Approach
for Prioritization of sites & species, Strengthened ex situ & in situ conservation Conceptualized Programme on People's Participation in Conservation.
Prof Basant Ram is presently working as Director-Experiment
Station and Research at G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. He graduated from Gorakhpur University(1967), Post graduate from Kanpur University(1969) and PhD from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi(1974). He has more than 35 years of teaching and research experience. He has around 70 research
papers and 68 popular articles to his credit in national and international journals. He is a member of around 15 professional
societies. He foreign visits include, CIMMYT, Mexico, US Department of Agriculture,
Beltsville, marylans, USA, Plant Breeding Institute, Cambridge, UK, USSR etc. He has lot of managerial experience and member of many committees like Research
Advisory Committee of Vivekanand Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhanshala, Almora, Chairman of Competitive Grant Project, DASP Uttaranchal,
Director, Board of Directors, UPS & TDC
Dr H P Singh obtained his Doctorate in Horticulture from
the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. He graduated from Banaras Hindu University and earned his postgraduate
degree with Gold Medal from Rajendra Agriculture University, Bihar in 1971. Starting his career as a Scientist
at Central Horticulture Experiment Station, Chethalli (Kodaju), Karnataka in 1972, Dr Singh has contributed significantly
to horticulture research and development, and has set an example as researcher and research manager, which has brought him
National and International Recognition. He is a recipient of two International Award Kalpvriksha Award-2001, APCC,
Jakarta, Indonesia and Pisang Raja 1996 ASPNET (INIBAP), and 14 National Awards. Dr H P Singh is a
fellow of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), 1998 and AIPUB (2001). In
a distinguished career spanning 32 years, Dr. Singh served in various capacities as Scientist, Project Coordinator (Tropical
Fruits), Director, National Research Centre on Banana (NRCB), Trichy and Horticulture Commissioner, Government of
India, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Chairman,
Coconut Development Board. Currently is serving as Dean of Agriculture, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology,
Pantnagar. His outstanding contributions are in genetic resource management of fruits, development of cultivars and production
system based technologies. He is instrumental in promotion of horticulture research and development in the country. Dr. Singh
is credited to have conceptualized hi-tech horticulture and precision farming and contributed significantly for the promotion
of organic farming. He has been instrumental in launching of Horticulture Technology Mission and several projects on horticulture.
Development of employment oriented course in Agriculture education is an outstanding contribution of Dr Singh. He is widely
travelled in India and abroad, and is credited to have authored more than 250 research
papers and book chapters. He has authored and edited 20 bulletins and 28 books. Dr. Singh has an excellent organising ability
and is credited to have organised 8 International Conferences and more than 61 National Conferences and workshops. He has
been Chairman of several International Committees and large number of National Committees. He owes a lot for widespread adoption
of improved technologies like micro-irrigation, protected cultivation, use of in-vitro propagated plants, fertigation, organic
farming, etc.
Dr K N Shukla is presently Dean, College of Technology, G B Pant University
of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar 263145, Uttaranchal. He did his graduation from University of Allahabad, Post graduation
from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharaghpur, PhD in Soil Science and Ph D in Agricultural engineering from G B Pant University
of Agriculture & Technology, Pantangar. He got more than thirty five years of teaching, research and administrative experience
at different levels. He guided 12 M Tech and 5 PhD research students. He has more than 30 International and more than 40 National
publications to his credit. He attended two International training courses at ILRI,
Wageninen, The Netherlands. He has organised 31 training programmes, conferences,
seminars etc. He is a life member of professional bodies like ISTE, IWRS, ISAE, ISTAM, WALMI etc. He was a recipient of The Netherlands / FAO Fellowship, Best Paper
Award at International Conference on Micro and Sprinkler Irrigation. He was also
Editor-cum- Business Manager for the Journal of Agricultural Engineering, Member Green House Committee of Bureau of Indian
Standards (BIS), worked as chairman of various International and National conferences & workshops and worked as expert
selection committee of Sr. Faculty members of IIT, University, Public Service Commission, ASRB etc.
Dr Vir
Singh is a Professor at the College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences at the G B Pant University of Agriculture
& Technology, Pantnagar. He obtained his B Sc Honours in Botany from Meerut University, Masters and Ph D from GBPU A&T,
Pantnagar.He picked up the prestigious ICIMOD research fellowship and worked on Draught Animal Power in mountain agriculture.
Dr Singh has taught and researched in mountain areas, especially in the Central Himalayas for more than two decades. His research work focuses on vital
issues relating to the mountains and mountain communities. Dr Vir Singh has specialised in mountain farming systems, especially
in livestock farming and fodder resources. He has several research papers and general articles and 10 books to his credit
